Weingut Peter Kriechel
Info:
The Ahrweiler family winery around Ernst, Michael and Peter Kriechel can now look back on over 60 years of success. During this time, they have developed the winery with a vineyard area of 1.5 hectares into the largest private family winery in the Ahr Valley with 28 hectares. Burgundy takes centre stage: Today, the winery concentrates mainly on Pinot varieties, which accounts for over 90% of the vineyards. (60 % Pinot Noir, 20 % Pinot Noir, 10 % Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris) With over 4 hectares of Pinot Noir, the estate is the largest private producer of this rare Ahr speciality. Natural cultivation: When working in the vineyard, great importance is attached to natural cultivation. Only organic fertilisers are used and no insecticides or botryticides are used at all. class instead of mass: To improve quality, grapes are halved in most vineyard plots. The vineyards are optimally tended according to the latest knowledge and the grapes are selectively harvested by hand by specialised staff. Regional ties: In order to continue the regional concept in the cellar, the winery has had barrels made from local Ahr oak for several years.
